This interview was filmed on January 26, 2021.

After starting the year well above the US$1,900 per ounce mark, gold has taken a tumble, spending most of January below that level.

Will Rhind, CEO of GraniteShares, said the issue may be that so far no concrete US stimulus plan has been announced. He also suggested that the risk-on environment in the overall market could be a factor working against gold, saying that since the start of the year there have been incidents of extreme risk taking in the equity space.
